Web Interactivity

Interactivity is important for many different reasons, with the most important reason being that it gathers the interest of customers giving them a platform in which they are able to interact in some way.  With interaction more time is spent on a page with more options for the customer, or viewer of a web page drawing them in to your product. The article that I choose for this blog assignment is called “Interactivity is King”. In this article the author talks about how we are seeing a trend with more and more companies turning to interactivity for advertising purposes.  The author explains how we are far progressed from the days in which a information allowed no interactivity stating that “there is no way to deny the fact static pages just don’t cut it anymore.”  In this article the author also explains the importance and rationale behind creating and interactive website.  With the advancement of the Internet over the last decade and with all of the websites available on the internet that people navigate everyday, it is very important to make your brand stand out.  This article is related to internet communication because it explains a critical component that must go into creating a website that will have success in capturing the mind, and repeat visits of viewers.  Without a unique interactive platform for a website it will be indistinguishable from the million others on the internet making it hard to get your name or brand out to the public.  I think that one way we can measure web interactivity in a web design is by looking at what elements that are incorporated into a website offer an interactive platform for a user, and how realistic and convenient it is to interact on the website.
